What Is “Homes For The Homeless”?

Hello everyone, we are Homes For The Homeless. We are an organization that is dedicated to getting homeless women, men, children and families off the cold streets and into a comfy home. We are donation based and only collect cash from that. With these gracious donations we are able to make this dream possible. We talked to local construction management companies on the fundamentals to house building. With this information we were able to create the first of many houses to come. Our house builders are all volunteers with the same drive to help as many homeless families as possible. We are so grateful to receive anywhere from 150 to 300 local volunteers. With this number of volunteers we are able to accomplish a goal of about 5 houses per 3 months. Reaching our overall goal of 20 houses per year. We have connected with local hardware stores and they have graciously provided us with the needed supplies to create these homes. We hope to make this dream possible and provide help for all of those who desperately need it. I’m gonna give you a brief history on homelessness. Homelessness goes back a long ways. It’s always been around. One of the most significant cases of homeless outbreak was during “The Great Depression”. The Great Depression was a 10 year period spanning from 1929 to 1939 in which there was  a stock market crash which laid off a massive amount of people. This crash occurred on Black Tuesday, October 29th, 1929. This was such a massive problem that people all around the United States lost their homes and had the only other option to live on the streets. They didn’t have anywhere else to go. Now fast forward about 70 years to 2007. The stock market crashed again causing masses of homelessness again. Soon after this event banks started going bankrupt all over the country. 7.5 million people were laid off some were potentially homeless. This event spanned 2 years, 2007 to 2009. Currently over in Europe there are tons of homeless families that’s homes have been destroyed. They are out scavenging on the streets for food and shelter. We are hoping that all of you will consider pitching in and help us decreases these numbers. Thank you very much.
